Ingredients
Scale
1 cup warm water (105-115°F)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning blend
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced finely
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
Place the warm water and olive oil into the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your machine’s manual (usually liquids first).
Add the bread flour, sugar, salt, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder to the pan. Create a small well in the center of the flour.
Add the minced fresh garlic into the well.
Sprinkle the yeast over the top of the flour, avoiding contact with the liquid if possible.
Add 3/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese and all of the Parmesan cheese on top of the flour mixture. Reserve the remaining 1/4 cup mozzarella for later.
Select the basic or white bread cycle on your machine. Start the kneading cycle.
When the machine signals the addition of mix-ins (usually after the initial kneading phase), quickly open the lid and scatter the reserved 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese over the dough. Close the lid immediately.
Allow the machine to complete the full cycle, including rising and baking.
Once the cycle finishes, carefully remove the bread from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use bread flour for a better texture.
If your machine has a delayed start, do not use it, as the fresh garlic may spoil the dough.
If you prefer a crustier loaf, use the ‘Dough’ setting and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 30-35 minutes after the machine finishes the rise cycle.
