Prepare a flavorful dinner featuring salmon and shrimp coated in a rich, creamy garlic sauce seasoned with Cajun spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, divided
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon and shrimp pieces with 1/2 tablespoon of the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until lightly browned. Remove the salmon and set aside.
  3. Add the shrimp to the same skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Remove the shrimp and set aside with the salmon.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not brown the garlic.
  5. Stir in the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce slightly for 2 minutes.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and lemon juice until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Return the cooked salmon and shrimp to the skillet. Gently toss to coat everything evenly in the creamy garlic sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the seafood is heated through.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Serve this dish over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your preference for heat level.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash more chicken broth or cream to reach your desired consistency.
