A simple recipe for a rich, baked pasta dish featuring tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and a generous layer of melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fettuccine pasta
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken breast
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus 1/2 cup for topping
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce (or homemade equivalent)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with melted butter.
  2. Cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, heavy cream, milk, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the drained pasta and the cooked chicken to the ricotta mixture. Stir gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Pour in the jarred Alfredo sauce and mix until the pasta and chicken are fully incorporated into the sauce base.
  6. Transfer the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
  7. Sprinkle the 2 cups of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the pasta mixture. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese over the mozzarella.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes covered.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown.
  11. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can substitute the milk with more heavy cream.
  • If you prefer to make the sauce from scratch, prepare 3 cups of your favorite homemade Alfredo sauce and use it in place of the jarred sauce.
  • You can use rotisserie chicken to save time on cooking the chicken.
  • Serve this bake with a simple green salad or steamed broccoli for a complete meal.
