This recipe recreates the sweet, creamy Grape Salad famous at Chicken Salad Chick. This dish is a sweet side or dessert, not a savory chicken salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds red and green seedless grapes
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes. Remove them from the stems.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Gently fold the grapes and chopped pecans into the cream cheese mixture until they are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the salad mixture into a serving dish.
  6. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top layer of the salad.
  7. Cover the dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • This salad is best served cold. Prepare it up to 24 hours ahead of time.
  • If you prefer a slightly tangier flavor, substitute 2 tablespoons of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
  • For a different texture, toast the pecans lightly before chopping and adding them to the salad.
