Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken tenders
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
1/4 cup unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions
Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. This helps achieve crispiness.
In a bowl, toss the tenders with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until coated.
Place the flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each tender lightly in the flour, shaking off any excess.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
Arrange the floured tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the outside is golden brown and crispy.
While the chicken cooks, prepare the sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
Stir in the honey and water. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 1 teaspoon of cold water to create a slurry. Whisk the slurry into the simmering sauce.
Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
Place the cooked, crispy tenders in a large bowl. Pour the warm honey butter garlic sauce over the tenders and toss gently to coat evenly.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the floured tenders with cooking spray before placing them in the air fryer.
If you prefer a thinner glaze, use less cornstarch or add a teaspoon more water to the sauce mixture.
