Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for baking)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (for Tzatziki)
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, grated and squeezed dry (for Tzatziki)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for Tzatziki)
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill (for Tzatziki)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, red onion, minced garlic, feta cheese, parsley, mint, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the lightly beaten egg to the mixture. Use your hands to gently mix all ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Roll the mixture into small, uniform balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush the tops of the meatballs lightly with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and they are lightly browned.
  7. While the meatballs bake, prepare the tzatziki sauce: In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, and dill. Stir well.
  8. Serve the warm Greek chicken meatballs immediately with the tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For a lower-carb option, substitute the panko breadcrumbs with almond flour.
  • If you plan to meal prep, store the meatballs and tzatziki sauce separately in airtight containers.
  • You can serve these meatballs over lemon orzo or a simple green salad.
