Make this incredibly creamy frozen hot chocolate in under five minutes with just three simple ingredients. It is the perfect cold, refreshing chocolate drink for summer days or a quick dessert treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk works best for creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup hot chocolate mix (use your favorite brand)
  • 1 1/2 cups ice cubes
  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
  • Chocolate syrup or curls, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your three main ingredients: milk, hot chocolate mix, and ice.
  2. Place the milk, hot chocolate mix, and ice cubes into a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and thick, resembling a milkshake. This usually takes about 30 to 60 seconds.
  4. Taste the frozen hot chocolate. If you prefer it sweeter or more chocolatey, add a small amount more mix and blend again briefly.
  5. Pour the creamy frozen hot chocolate into a tall glass.
  6. Top generously with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup or sprinkle with chocolate curls for the ultimate decadent frozen treat. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra rich, copycat frozen hot chocolate flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the milk with 1/4 cup of chocolate milk or add one tablespoon of chocolate fudge sauce before blending.
  • If you want a thicker frozen chocolate shake, reduce the milk slightly or add a few more ice cubes.
  • This recipe is kid friendly and makes a fantastic summer sip or movie night dessert.
