Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced, divided
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves, salt, and pepper.
Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
While the salmon bakes, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add the remaining 2 minced garlic cloves to the saucepan and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
Pour in the white wine or broth and let it simmer for 1 minute, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
To serve, place the cooked salmon on plates and spoon the lemon garlic sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For an extra crisp skin, you can pan-sear the salmon skin-side down in olive oil for 4 minutes before transferring it to the oven to finish cooking.
Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor in the sauce.
You can substitute chicken broth with water if you prefer not to use wine or broth.
