Prepare quick and flavorful salmon bites coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic glaze. This recipe works well for weeknight dinners or appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (for slurry)
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds and chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, ginger, and black pepper to create the glaze base.
  3. Place the salmon cubes in a medium bowl. Pour half of the glaze mixture over the salmon and gently toss to coat. Reserve the remaining half of the glaze for later.
  4. Arrange the coated salmon pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  6. While the salmon bakes, pour the reserved glaze into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
  7. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering glaze. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens slightly, about 1 minute. Remove from heat immediately.
  8. Remove the salmon from the oven. Drizzle the thickened honey garlic sauce over the hot salmon bites. Toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For crispier edges, you can broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes after baking, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • If you prefer an air fryer method, cook the coated salmon at 380°F (195°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, then toss with the thickened sauce.
  • Serve these bites over steamed rice or alongside roasted broccoli for a complete meal.
