Ingredients
Scale
1 bunch fresh asparagus, tough ends trimmed
12 slices thin-cut bacon
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Wash the asparagus and pat it completely dry. This helps the bacon crisp up.
Divide the asparagus into 4 equal bundles, about 5 to 6 spears per bundle.
Take one slice of bacon and wrap it tightly around the center of one asparagus bundle. Overlap the bacon slightly as you wrap. Secure the end of the bacon strip underneath the bundle. Repeat for the remaining bundles.
Place the wrapped bundles seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Brush this mixture lightly over the tops of the bacon-wrapped bundles.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. For crispier bacon, you can switch the oven to broil for the last 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
Remove from the oven when the bacon is cooked to your desired crispness and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
Notes
For a different texture, you can cook these in an air fryer at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
If you prefer thicker bacon, increase the cooking time by 5 to 10 minutes.
You can substitute garlic powder with 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder for a different flavor profile.
