Make the famous Texas Roadhouse salmon at home using this simple recipe that replicates the signature seasoned butter glaze and cooking method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to create the seasoning blend.
  4. Rub the olive oil over both sides of the salmon fillets.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning blend evenly over the top side of each fillet.
  6. For the glaze, mix the softened butter, lemon juice, and parsley in a separate small bowl until combined.
  7. If baking, place the salmon on a foil-lined baking sheet. If grilling, place the salmon directly on the oiled grates, seasoned side up.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or grill for 4 to 6 minutes per side, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  9. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, top each fillet with half of the seasoned butter mixture. Allow the butter to melt over the fish.
  10. Remove from heat and serve immediately with your preferred side dishes.

Notes

  • For a grilled flavor mimic, you can finish the salmon under the broiler for one minute after adding the butter.
  • Serve this salmon with copycat seasoned rice and steamed green beans for the full restaurant experience.
  • If you prefer a sweeter glaze, add 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar to the butter mixture.
