Make these simple, no-bake peanut butter protein bars with only five ingredients. They are perfect for quick meal prep and taste better than store-bought options.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, protein powder, rolled oats, and honey or maple syrup.
  3. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until a thick, uniform dough forms. You may need to use your hands to fully incorporate everything.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Use the back of a spatula or your fingers to pack it down firmly.
  5. Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour, or until the bars are set.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the chilled bars.
  8. Return the pan to the refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  9. Lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang and cut them into 10 even bars.

Notes

  • For a firmer bar, slightly reduce the amount of honey or use peanut butter powder mixed with water instead of creamy peanut butter.
  • Store these homemade protein bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • If you need a vegan option, ensure you use maple syrup instead of honey and a plant-based protein powder.
